What is Arceus?
Arceus reviews commercial contracts for generational companies. We deliver redlines within a guaranteed turnaround window, at a fixed per-document price, with a live view of every document's status. Every review is finalized by a licensed legal professional.
Why did you start Arceus?
Every other layer of infrastructure that generational companies depend on has been rebuilt for velocity: payments, banking, compute, identity, procurement, finance. Legal is the layer that had not been rebuilt for how fast modern companies operate. We built the firm we wished existed when we were sitting in the customer's seat.
How does Arceus work?
A contract arrives by portal upload, email, or Slack and is acknowledged in real time. Your reviewer assesses the document and submits a fixed-price estimate. You approve. The reviewer finalizes redlines within the guaranteed turnaround window and delivers the reviewed .docx with an optional note. You see status at every step. The price is known before billable work begins.
What is your business model?
Fixed price per review cycle. Each contract is priced before the work begins. Customers who use Arceus consistently move into a recurring review desk relationship at a monthly rate that scales with contract volume.
Who are your competitors?
Companies have historically chosen between traditional outside counsel, in-house counsel, and general-purpose AI tools. Traditional firms move on a multi-week clock and bill against time. In-house counsel are stretched thin during growth inflection points. General-purpose AI tools are unreviewed by licensed counsel. Arceus combines the legal craft of a top traditional firm with the velocity, transparency, and pricing alignment that generational companies require.
Is Arceus just AI?
AI handles intake, assessment, first-pass review preparation, and status visibility. The judgment that determines the final output, the legal craft in the redlines, and the commercial fluency in the negotiation guidance are all the work of licensed legal professionals. You never receive an unreviewed AI document.
Who are your clients?
Arceus focuses on B2B companies in SaaS, AI, fintech, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, devtools, and enterprise software. We serve the generational companies building the categories the rest of the market will live in.
What file formats do you accept?
.docx (Microsoft Word). Submit Word documents rather than PDFs so your reviewer can deliver tracked changes.
How fast is a typical review?
Standard commercial reviews commonly carry an eight-business-hour turnaround window. Larger or more complex documents may carry a longer window, quoted during the estimate step. Turnaround is measured in business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific.
What happens if you miss the deadline?
The review is free. The charge for that cycle is waived automatically.
Can I submit by email?
Yes. Send .docx attachments to your personal intake alias or to contracts@arceus.legal from an authorized email address on your account. See Submitting via email.
Can I submit by Slack?
Yes. Upload a .docx and tag @Arceus with a short note (for example, @Arceus can you review this NDA? Demo with the prospect is Tuesday.). Estimates, clarifications, and delivery happen in the thread. See Submitting via Slack.
How do I add team members?
Contact your Arceus administrator to add or remove authorized email addresses on your account.
How am I billed?
Monthly, on the first of each month, for all billable review cycles completed in the prior calendar month. Charges go to the card on file (set up via the emailed card-setup link). You receive a receipt with cycle details. Open the Billing tab to view invoices and contract-level billing history.
What is a review cycle?
One round of work: from estimate approval through delivery of the review to you. Each negotiation round is a separate cycle.
Can I see status without logging in?
Completed reviews are delivered by email with the redlined .docx attached (portal and email submissions). Slack submissions receive the document in the thread. Your Dashboard at app.arceus.legal shows live status and download links for active contracts.
Why the name Arceus?
The name reflects origin and creation, which is what our customers do every day. They build the categories the rest of the world will live in once they understand them.
