Working with your reviewer

Your Arceus reviewer is a licensed attorney assigned to your account from your chosen law firm. The relationship is designed to feel like an extension of your team.

Your reviewer's role

Your reviewer:

  • Assesses each contract and quotes a fixed price before work begins
  • Finalizes every redline and written analysis
  • Applies commercial judgment calibrated to your company's deal patterns
  • Builds institutional knowledge of your paper, playbook, and standard positions over time

AI-assisted preparation supports your reviewer's work. Your reviewer makes every judgment call that shapes the output you receive.

How to communicate

Reply to Arceus emails — Every delivery email supports direct reply. Your message reaches the contracts team and your reviewer. This applies when you submitted via the portal or email.

Slack thread replies — For contracts submitted via Slack, reply in the submission thread. Clarification cards and delivery attachments appear there. In-thread replies to clarification requests resume the turnaround clock.

Contract detail page — Use the portal to view status on the Dashboard, open a contract, upload revisions, and approve estimates.

Clarifications — If a review raises questions, reply in plain language. You do not need to cite section numbers. Example: "We can accept a 1-year term but not exclusivity." Your reviewer can answer without opening a full new round when the question is narrow.

Slack — Tag @Arceus in the submission thread for status questions, or reply in-thread when your reviewer asks for input.

Sending a revised document

When your counterparty returns a marked-up version:

  1. Sign in to the client portal
  2. Open the original contract or start a new submission linked to the deal
  3. Upload the revised .docx
  4. Approve the new estimate when it is ready

Each round is a separate review cycle with its own estimate and billing.

Building institutional knowledge

The same reviewer stays with your account over time. They learn:

  • Your standard positions and deal breakers
  • Your counterparty patterns
  • Your internal approval process
  • Your industry's typical commercial terms

Complete your onboarding questionnaire thoroughly to accelerate this learning curve.
