Submitting via Slack
You can submit contracts, approve estimates, answer clarifications, and receive redlines from your company's Slack channel without leaving Slack.
If you submit via Slack, estimate, clarification, and delivery notifications happen in the Slack thread, not by email.
See Submitting a contract for the other submit paths.
Connect Slack (one time)
Your Arceus account team provisions a private Slack Connect channel for your company. Accept the Slack Connect invite when it arrives. @Arceus is already in that channel.
You do not connect Slack from the client portal dashboard. If you need a channel or have not received an invite, contact your account team.
Who can use Slack
Only Slack users whose email matches an authorized email address on your Arceus account can submit contracts, approve estimates, and run commands. @Arceus resolves your identity from your Slack profile email on first contact.
If you see a message that you are not authorized, contact your Arceus account team to add your email.
How to submit a contract
- In your connected channel, upload your contract as a
.docxfile. - In the same message, type @Arceus and say what you need in plain language.
- @Arceus acknowledges in the thread and shares a link to track the contract in the portal.
You do not need legal expertise or section numbers. Tell us who the deal is with, what it is for, how urgent it is, and anything that worries you. Your reviewer handles the rest.
What to include
| Helpful context | Example |
|---|---|
| Counterparty | "Stripe for our payments stack" or "Acme Corp (enterprise prospect)" |
| What the document is | "Their NDA before a demo" or "Order form for a new analytics vendor" |
| Timeline | "Need this back before Friday's call" or "Board meeting Wednesday" |
| Your role in the deal | "We're buying" or "Customer sent us their paper" |
| Business concerns | "Worried about auto-renewal" or "Can't agree to exclusivity" |
Example messages
NDA before a sales conversation (common at seed and Series A):
@Arceus can you review this NDA? Prospect is Nova Systems — we have a demo Tuesday
and they won't share their use case until we sign. Just need to know if it's safe to move forward.
Vendor SaaS or order form (common when scaling ops):
@Arceus attached is the order form from Datadog for our monitoring upgrade.
We're buying, ~$40k/year. Anything we should push back on before I sign?
Enterprise customer paper (common at Series B and later):
@Arceus customer sent their MSA for a $200k ACV deal. Need to close this quarter.
First time on their paper — flag anything that would block us from signing as-is.
Data / security review (when a customer asks for a DPA):
@Arceus our enterprise lead at FinCo needs this DPA before procurement will approve.
Deal is otherwise done — let me know if anything here is a showstopper.
Urgent timeline:
@Arceus need a quick review on this services agreement. Counterparty is our design agency,
project kicks off Monday. Main question is whether the IP terms work for us.
If you do know specific terms to flag, include them. That is optional, not required:
@Arceus review this MSA from Acme Corp. Close is next Friday.
Please pay extra attention to liability and data processing — those came up on our last deal.
You can also reply in a thread @Arceus already started without tagging @Arceus again.
A file uploaded with no @Arceus and no existing thread from @Arceus is not picked up automatically. Tag @Arceus when you submit.
File requirements
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Format | .docx (Microsoft Word) only |
| Size limit | 25 MB per file |
| PDFs | Not accepted. @Arceus replies asking you to save the document as .docx and re-upload |
Multiple files in one message
If you attach more than one .docx in the same message, @Arceus starts a separate contract review for each file and acknowledges each one in the thread. There is no confirm/skip step.
@Arceus two contracts attached — NDA and order form for the same vendor (Brightwave).
Review both; order form is the one we need to sign this week.
What happens after you submit
Your contract appears in Arceus. You can track it on your Dashboard at app.arceus.legal.
Received → Estimate Approval → Assigned → Reviewing → Ready
When your estimate is ready
When your reviewer submits a quote, @Arceus posts an estimate carousel in the same Slack thread with price, turnaround, and Approve / Decline buttons.
If you uploaded multiple contracts in one thread, the carousel pages between them (previous/next controls). One carousel per thread; new estimates refresh the same message in place.
You do not receive a separate estimate email for Slack submissions. Approve or decline in the thread.
You can also open the contract on your Dashboard.
The contracts estimate slash command reminds you that estimates arrive in the thread with Approve / Decline buttons. Use contracts status to see where each contract stands.
Clarifications during review
If your reviewer needs input, @Arceus posts a clarification card in the thread (deadline paused while you respond). Reply in that thread. Your reply resumes the turnaround clock.
You do not need @Arceus on clarification replies. Answer in plain language:
Yes, we're fine with a 1-year term. We can't do exclusivity though — we have other
partners in this space.
Need this wrapped by Wednesday for our customer kickoff. Happy to accept their standard
payment terms if everything else looks okay.
When your review is ready
@Arceus posts the redlined .docx in the thread with a View in Platform button linking to your contract page. Your reviewer's note appears in the thread message and on the portal contract card.
You do not receive a separate delivery email for Slack submissions.
Track status in Slack
Slash commands (in any channel where @Arceus is present):
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| contracts status | See where your contracts stand |
| contracts estimate | Reminder that estimates post in-thread (no price list) |
| contracts submit | Reminder of how to upload a document |
| contracts setup | Check whether your workspace is connected |
| contracts admins | See who is authorized on your account |
| contracts help | List all commands |
Type these in Slack as slash commands (for example /contracts status).
Tag @Arceus in a thread for status questions. The assistant answers read-only.
@Arceus what's the status of the Nova Systems NDA?
@Arceus is the Datadog order form done yet?
For the full timeline and SLA countdown, use the client portal.
